Scoop is originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan and Brenda hails from Columbus, Ohio. Although their college teams were arch rivals, they now both proudly identify themselves as “Seminole” fans.

Join the Crew at the 2012 Pirate Fest

Ahoy mateys! Off the starboard bow ye can see the pirates already. That’s right, the seventh annual Pirate Fest this weekend on Fort Myers Beach [map]. We’re talking about lots of food, interactive games with pirates, a treasure hunt, sea skirmishes, stage shows and costume contests. For adults, there will be a pirate ball and costume contest on Friday night, and a weekend-long pub crawl. Pirate crew encampments, black powder demonstrations, storytellers, and minstrels add to the local color. Event hours are noon to 5 p.m. and 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
